The diversity of these traditions is enormous: Yoruba and the dances of the Orishas \u2014 deities like Eleggu\u00e1, Chang\u00f3, or Yemay\u00e1 \u2014 each with its own language of movement, <\/p><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-d0a7d7d\" data-block-id=\"d0a7d7d\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-left\">its own rhythm, its own energy. Palo, rooted in the Congo tradition. Yuka and Makuta, among the oldest Cuban dance forms. Franco-Haitian, reflecting Haitian influences in eastern Cuba \u2014 to name just a few. Learning these dances doesn&#8217;t just mean learning new movements \u2014 it means understanding their origin. Those who know the roots dance with more depth.
