Laura

I'm Laura Torrenova Lopez and I've been dancing Cuban dances since I was 16 :)

I started dancing my first salsa steps with Timo (CSP) and was totally hooked, and I was also able to gain teaching experience there. At the young age of 18, I traveled to Cuba and spent months studying with teachers from the Conjunto Folklórico Nacional, such as Leivan García Valle, Yohana Dusatz, and Yandro Calderon Martinez! I even trained with the company itself for weeks. I also learned from many other great teachers from various international companies and dance schools, such as the International Company of Cuban Dances, where I am one of the founders and a dancer. I also studied with respected dancers like Alfredo García, Yorgenis Danger, and Leydis Teodoro. During this time, I fell in love with many Cuban dances, and especially with Cuban folklore.
